Anthony Melidona won his first ABT title by defeating top seed Rickey Grant 251-219 at AMF Allie Brandt Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals AJ Swannie defeated Sean Ptak 249-152. In match two Anthony Melidona defeated Swannie 235-219. In match three Anthony defeated Daniel Fecher 192-184. The championship match was much closer than the final score would indicate. A 4-9 split broke up what would have been a 7-bagger for Rickey Grant and made Anthony the winner 251-219. Champion’s Profile: Anthony Melidona is 20 years old and employed in the accounting office for Wegmans. He is currently single (but looking). Anthony has been bowling for 15 years and currently bowls league at Transit Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 776. Anthony was using a Storm Flash Point drilled by Jack Jurek at the Bowlers Choice Pro Shop inside Transit Lanes. He credits Brad Angelo, Jack Jurek and his dad as having helped him to improve his game. Anthony thanked his dad for getting him where he needed to be to win his first title. He said his winnings would go into savings. Anthony also said that he enjoyed the ABT format and that everyone is nice and courteous. CONGRATULATIONS William!
