David Derenda won his first ABT title in our Combo Single Event at AMF Mil-Sher Lanes. In round one of the match play finals Sheena Wang defeated Eric Laschinger 241-196 and David Derenda squeaked by Michael Clark 219-217. The title match was close but David Derenda rolled a clutch double late in the match to defeat Sheena Wang 229-207 and claim his first title. Champion’s Profile: David Derenda is 49 years old and employed as an alcohol counselor’s aide for Kids Escaping Drugs. He is married to Judith and they have four children, Rachel, Corey, Kayla and Matthew ages 26, 18, 7 and 4. David has been bowling since age 10 and currently bowls league at AMF Lancaster Lanes. His high game is 290 and he has a 756 high series to his credit. David was using a Hammer Black Widow drilled by Jim Reese at AMF Lancaster. He thanked the ABT for coming to Buffalo, his family for their support, Jim Reese for helping him with his game and AMF Mil-Sher for hosting the event. David said his winnings would be shared with his family. He also said that he really enjoyed the tournament, the shot and format were excellent, the handicap fair, and he is looking forward to bowling in more events. CONGRATULATIONS David!
