Steven Lach won his first ABT title by defeating George Spencer 188-164 in our final event of the season at AMF Thruway Lanes. In round one of the match play finals George Spencer defeated Tenno Kullerkupp 221-214 and Steven Lach squeaked by Sean Parry 184-183. In the title match George took a 4-pin lead after 4 frames but consecutive splits for George in frames 5 and 6 allowed Steven to erase that lead. Steven then struck in frames 6-8 to take control of the match and go on to win by the final score of 188-164. Champion’s Profile: Steven Lach is 19 years old and employed in the pro shop at AMF Thruway Lanes. He has been bowling since age 3 and currently bowls in several leagues around Buffalo. His high game is 300 and he has a 799 high series to his credit. Steven was using a Storm T-Road Pearl that he drilled himself. He credits Sue Jeziorski and Sean Parry as having helped him to improve his game. Steven thanked AMF Thruway for hosting the event and said that he plans to enjoy his winnings. Steven also said that he likes the one-day format better than the old 2-day format and that more people need to come out and give the ABT a try. CONGRATULATIONS Steven!
