*** Madonia Wins at Wimbledon ***

Tony Madonia won his first ABT title by defeating Brian Ruszala 259-203 at Wimbledon Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Tony Madonia defeated Eric Peterson 199-193 when Eric left splits in his last 3 frames. In the championship match top seed Brian Ruszala doubled in the 4th and 5th frames to keep the match close but Tony Madonia strung a 4-bagger in frames 7-10 to pull away to the 259-203 victory.

Champion’s Profile: Tony Madonia is “over 60” and employed as a production worker for G.M. He has 3 grown children, Tony, Valerie and Marijo and 7 grandchildren. Tony has been back in bowling since 2002 after a long lay-off from the game. He currently bowls leagues at Manor and Kenmore Lanes. Tony has a high game of 286 and a 779 high series to his credit. He was using a Brunswick Time Zone drilled by Doug Heim at the National Bowling Store. Tony said he learned to bowl by watching and bowling with better bowlers. His winnings will be used for Christmas shopping. Tony enjoys bowling in the ABT, he says it’s like professional bowling.

CONGRATULATIONS Tony!
