Scott McCarthy won his first ABT title by defeating Mathew Ciminelli 207-200 at AMF Mil-Sher Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Mathew Ciminelli defeated Rickey Grant 263-255. The championship match was nip and tuck from start to finish but at the end it was Scott McCarthy with just enough to hold off Mathew Ciminelli 207-200. Champion’s Profile: Scott McCarthy is 41 years old and employed as an accountant for the Seneca Niagara Casino. He has been bowling since age 8 and currently bowls league at Transit Lanes. His high game is 279 and he has a 737 high series to his credit. Scott was using a Columbia Action Max drilled by Mike Hanes at Tonawanda Bowling Center. Scott credits Jack Jurek and Len Pimm as having helped him to improve his game. He thanked the ABT for running wonderful events and AMF Mil-Sher for hosting this week’s tournament. Scott said that he prefers the separate division events over combo events and offered his best wishes to all future ABT participants.
