Jerry Smith won his first ABT title by defeating Joe Doxbeck 252-159 at Transit Lanes. Jerry is a 74-year-old retired civil engineer. He is married to Katherine and they have 3 grown children John, Leslie and Jeffery. Jerry has been bowling since age 16 and currently bowls in several leagues at various Greater Buffalo centers. His high game is 300 and he has an 831 high series to his credit. Jerry was using a Brunswick Elite drilled by Rich Maloney at the Prime Time Pro Shop in Niagara Falls. Besides bowling Jerry also enjoys golf. Jerry thanked the ABT and Transit Lanes for having the tournament. He said his winnings would be shared equally with his wife. Jerry closed his interview by saying that the ABT is the best tournament in town run by a fine staff. (Thanks for the kind words, Jerry!)
