Mike Platter and David Whiteside combined for a 1016 handicap total to top the field of 32 teams and win the doubles title at Broadway Sports Center. Mike Platter is 35 years old and employed as an IT consultant for Ingram Micro Inc. He is married to Becky and has been back in bowling for about four years after a long layoff. Mike currently bowls leagues at AMF Airport and Broadway Sports Center. His high game is 256 that he rolled in his winning doubles score and he has a 643 high series to his credit. Mike was using an Ebonite NVS drilled by Jack Jurek at the Bowlers Choice Pro Shop. He thanked his partner and the ABT and said that his winnings would be used for a vacation in April. Mike said he enjoys the ABT because the people are friendly and it provides a good opportunity for bowlers to compete. David Whiteside is 51 years old and employed as a RV technician for Camping World. He is married to Pam and they have 3 children Jason, Ryan and Jay. David currently bowls league at Rainbow Lanes in Weedsport and has a high game of 300 to go along with a 780 high series. He was using a Track Fread drilled by Mike McCracken at Flamingo Lanes. David thanked his partner and the ABT for running great events. He said his winnings would be used to pay bills.
