Jerry Smith captured his third ABT title by defeating Ike Layton Jr. 183-155 at AMF Airport Lanes. Jerry is a 74-year-old retired civil engineer. He is married to Katherine and they have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren. Jerry has been bowling since age 16 and currently bowls in several leagues in the Greater Buffalo area. He has a high game of 300 and an 831 high series to his credit. Besides bowling Jerry also enjoys golf. He thanked the ABT for running the tournament and AMF Airport Lanes for hosting it. Jerry said that part of his winnings would probably end up going to his grandchildren for different things that they might need.
